Day of Destiny
Chapter 8


Breakfast was very quite sense no one really had anything to say and no one dared ask Katie any questions with Ryo sitting right there. Mia talked with Katie cheerfully about some girl talk once while they were eating and then there was silence again. Sage didn’t say anything the whole time and didn’t even look at Katie. Cye and Kento smiled at Katie and brought up the question of summer break and what they where going to do. Katie had a few things to say about this, but then went back to being silent.

After breakfast Cye helped Mia in the kitchen while Kento, Ryo, and Rowen went in the front room to finish up the game they were playing on the Nintendo 64. Sage went outside to meditate in the woods for while. Katie kind of kept to herself though. She was trying to make up her mind about how she was going to tell the guys about her training, Keno and a whole lot of other things. She decided she’d tell them and then if they didn’t believe her then she would call on keno for help. "All right I know what I’m going to do now all I have to do is go down there and tell them." she said to herself as she paced around her room. "I can do this." she then exited her room and walked slowly down the stairs in to the living room.

"Aww man Ryo you’re killing me!" Kento shouted angrily.

"Well then maybe you should learn how to fight better Kento of hard head!" Ryo said without talking his eyes off the screen.

"Haha I got ya!" Kento shout as he made an attempt to hit Ryo’s player.
"I don’t think so, Kento!" moves his player out of the way just as Kento’s player comes charging at him and then falls off the edge. The Game Over sign came up on the screen and then it was over.

"Nice try Kento, but Ryo again. That’s three times in a row now." Rowen stated as he laughed.

"Haha very funny smurf. I’d like to see you try and beat him." Kento said with a look of pure superiority on his face.

"Yeah, yea what eva ,Kento." he said as he waved him off like it was no big deal. Katie who had been watching the whole thing now came in to the living and room laughing. "So this is what you guys do with your time off huh?" All three boys turn around and look at her.

"Yea basically. What else would we do?" Kento said as he got ready to start a new match.

"Yea, yea ok Kento what ever you say. Look you guys I’ve got something I want to tell all of you." Katie said as she looked at all three of them.

"What is it Katie?" Rowen asked as he shout his book and gave her his full attention.

"Well, first I need everyone present before I can tell you."

"Hang on and I'll go and get them." Ryo said as he ran went in to the kitchen to get Cye and Mia. He came back out about three minutes later followed by Mia and Cye. "All right now you can tell us." he said as he sat back down where he was sitting before.

"Wait a minute, where’s sage?" she asked as she noticed the warrior of light was not there.

"Oh that’s right he went in to the woods to meditate. He said he’d be back before sunset." Cye answered as he took a seat next to Kento on the floor.

"Oiy, I should have known. Can I get one of you guys to run out there and get him for me?" she asked as she looked at everyone.

"Yea sure Katie I’ll go and get him." Rowen said as he got from where he was.

"Thanks Ro. I owe yah one." he just waved her off and smiled. "Don’t worry bout it." he walked out the door and towards the woods where he knew sage would be.

Sage was sitting Indian style on the ground next to a waterfall. His eyes were closed and seemed to be almost asleep. As he meditated he saw four figures. one was sitting at a thrown and the three others where bowing before him. He couldn’t make out there faces, all he could see where silhouettes of them. He frowned wondering what or who the could be. He opened his eyes and looked at the water. "Could they be are knew enemy?" he thought to himself. "Or are they the ones after Katie?" he frowned as he thought. Then he heard a twig break and stood up. He scanned the forest with his eyes, but could see nobody, then a hand came out from behind him and was about to grab him when turned around and grabbed the attackers arm.

"OW!! Sage lemmy go! It’s me Rowen!" Rowen yelled hoping that he would let go of his arm.


"Rowen? What are you doing out here?" he asked as he released Rowen’s arm.

"Katie sent me out here to get you. She has something she wants tell us, but she won’t tell us till your there." Rowen stated in a matter a fact way.

"What do you mean she has something she wants to tell us?" Sage asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"I don’t she wouldn’t say. Come on, she waiting." and with that the warrior of strata proceeded to drag the blond haired warrior out of the woods and towards the house.

Back at the house everyone was sitting n the living room waiting for sage and Rowen to arrive. No one said anything as they waited. Then Sage and Rowen came through the door and sat down in the living room with everyone else.

"Ok now that everyone's here, I'll tell you what I was gong to tell all of you." Katie said as she stood up so everyone could see her and hear her.

"Ohhh, goody a story!" Kento shouted and everyone laughed.

"Ok, let me see where should begin. Ok first off sage you were right something is going on and I do know something about it." she sighed and looked at everyone's reactions before she continued. "About 2 and a half weeks ago a man named Keno paid me a visit. He said that I was in great danger and that this man named Lord Darith was after me. He didn’t give me too much info and said that if he told me anymore than I could be at even more of a risk. He also said that he would train me and help me to understand the full existent of my power. I was supposed to meet with him this morning to train, but couldn’t get around to do it." she ended her speech and looked at everyone. Just as she thought they had stunned looks on there faces except for sage who seemed to remain calm the whole time she was telling everyone this.

"If this is true then why didn’t you tell us this before?" Rowen asked her with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"I couldn’t, Rowen. He said that by telling you guys i would just be putting your lives in danger. I didn’t want to do that so I didn’t tell you, any of you." she lowered her head and looked at the floor.

"So the where is this Keno guy then? If he even really exists." Kento asked her with a confused look on his face. Katie smiled at this. She was expecting Kento to be the one to ask her this.

"Do you guys really want to meet him?" she asked with a bit of happiness in her voice.

"Yes!" they all said together.

"Ok then. Keno you can come out now." she said and almost immediately a man wearing an outfit similar to the ancients appeared beside her. The Ronins just looked at him in total disbelief. They couldn’t believe that he actually was a real person and that he was standing right in front of them.

"Hello Ronins. I am Keno and it is nice to meet all of you." he said and bowed to them. All the while Katie was standing next to him just beaming. she loved seeing the guys shocked and especially when she was the one that shocked them.

"Told yah! I told yah he was real!" was all Katie could say to the stunned Ronins. The Ronins just nodded there heads and looked at her and then Keno.
