Forever Suiko
Chapter 3. Broken Behalf
Kento cocked, “Well Sage… what if they do attack Sai? You know how Sai is. He doesn’t fight back… well he DOES but I never seen him really do so…”
Sai burst in, “Hello! I’m back!”
Sage and Kento jinxed, “So what are we going to do about it?”
Sai was surprised, “What am I? A dictionary or a planner?”
Kento pulled his arm around Sai’s neck and said, “You darn got leadership, buddy! I thought you as a quiet person, but you are quite an advisor!”
Sai blushed and became quiet and silence came. But before a minute was up, Sai broke the silence and answered, “What I AM going to do is keep my orb safe and not bring it with me. So that…”
Kento fired off the hook: “SAI MORI! WHAT are you trying to get yourself into? You’ll turn into fish fillet!”
Sai complained, “You’re always into my safety case! If you’re THAT worried, why don’t you just come along and keep an eye, huh?”
Sai thought he got Kento, but that was exactly what Kento wanted: “I’ll do just that, Sai.”
Sage spoke up, “Kento is actually right at some prospects. We have to watch each other. Let’s say for instance… Sai is being attacked by Rowen. I could automatically at practice, pretending as a foolish mistake, hit the ball and make it hit him to stop him. See, we don’t have to get that alert!”
Sai liked this idea. “Okay… we’ll keep an eye on each other. But don’t get so motherly… okay?” He nudged Kento and grinned.
Kento snorted, “Yeah, yeah, Sai. That’s so—funny.” But he too was giggling on the inside.
Sage: “Here’s the set-up for our team.”

Sage Date and
“Wha… I’m old now…” yawned Sai, as he cuddled into a corner of the sofa/futon in his sleeping bag. He hugged his stuffed fish on a string that he had when he was three.
Kento looked at Sai; he admired Sai’s pleasant face he always had.
Sage muffled: “Psst, Kento. HOW do you fold his bed in? I know it’s able to…”
Kento looked puzzle and scratched his head; he tried to push one end of the bed, but it didn’t give away. Sage and Kento both tried, trying to be quiet. But still the bars would not budge. Sai yawned, a great big one, and stared, lazily, at them. He then gave a great big kick at a certain angle and the futon collapsed into a bed.
Sage sighed, thinking, “I knew that” and “Well, that works” and rolled onto the ‘bed,’ looking down at Kento and Sai.
Kento swept into his own sleeping bag, patted Sai on the head, winked at Sage, and sung, softly: “Good—night! Sweet dreams!”
Sage snickered, in disbelief, and whispered, “Goodnight” too.
Sai never felt so safe and comfortable in his whole life that he didn’t have the energy to. Sai could feel the soft hand of Kento’s on him and Sage’s own self quite near. This let Sai… Sai of Torrent… to his sleep, peacefully.
At 3:00 am, Sage was first to wake up, so he could take a shower. Kento noticed an unusual sound and woke up. But wait… Sai didn’t! In fact, Sai never slept more than they did! But when Kento finally took the covers off of Sai, there Sai was, crying in his sleep, but smiling. Kento felt really in charge of Sai now. Kento wrapped an arm around Sai, so Sai felt protected. Kento thought: “Has Sai NEVER slept at all?” He then took a Kleenex and swiped off Sai’s tears.
Sai then opened his eyes, embarrassed. “You saw me cry?” he whispered.
Kento nodded and asked, solemnly, “Yeah. Sai, you never ever slept fully, haven’t you? Isn’t THAT why you wake up early? Now Sai, tell me. Or I’ll tell your mom and maybe a doctor. That’s not good.”
Sai became flustered again: “Kento! Quit it! Why are you trying to scare me?”
Kento explained, “I’m NOT. I’m worried about you, Sai. And again, I’m concerned. You have been acting up lately.”
Sai whinnied but then admitted, “I haven’t been sleeping deeply yet till last night and some other night ago. But…” He stopped talking. Sai wished he could just pilot himself out of where he was.
Ryo was at the door with Ro. He knocked the door. Sage, his hair all wet, answered the door: “RYO! Ro? What do you want?”
Ryo looked puzzled, “What do you mean? What happened? Why you left?”
Sage looked at Ryo and plainly answered: “Well I’m glad you don’t know! If Sai or Kento sees you, they’ll beat you up! After what you done! Good day!” Sage shut the door in time to see Sai. “Sai? Sai, where on earth are YOU going?”
Sai didn’t answer and was out the door, thinking mentally: “If I tell them… everyone is doomed!”
He got onto the motorcycle and swept off, heading to the ocean way again. Sage yelled for Kento, grabbed Sai’s bicycle, and wheeled off. Kento hurried, told Mrs. Mori he’s using her car, took the keys, and drove off. Ryo and Rowen were puzzled and used what they were on… their skateboards.
Sai hauled off to the speed limit. Taking a ticket for the bridge pass, he rolled off, heading to the middle of the bridge… where there was the most traffic possible on the old bridge. “I’m doing this for your own sake, guys. Quit following me.” Sai stopped the motorcycle at a temporally parking space and immediately fell down again, hearing those words: “… I want your orb! I’ve you!”
Voice called: “SAI!”
He got startled and halted: “… who are you?” without turning back. “Sai! It’s me! Your mom!” His mother popped out of the car following Rowen and Ryo! “MOM! WHY you followed me here? It’s none of your…”
Mother: “Your friends, Rowen and Ryo, were worried about you last night after a true incident. After they saw you run off like that, they came to me.”
Kento came, behind him a couple yards was Sage. He stopped and said, “Wow, I didn’t know you had that many cars, Mrs. Mori!” then he ran over to Sai and grabbed him by the left arm. “Sai, you gone CRAZY! What’s happening to you? Tell me NOW!”
Sage stood but then was alerted some suspicion. Thinking, Sage knew there was a whole reason to this that Sai couldn’t say. Quietly and calmly, he armed Kento off of Sai and let Sai lean on him as he wrapped his arm around Sai.
Sage: “Madam… Sai isn’t going crazy as Kento says. He NEVER will otherwise he’ll tell you. I know him well enough to know. Really Mrs. Mori, I know Sai has something behind he’s not wanting to say… something to do with… his power.”
Kento: “That’s an idiotic thought…”
Mrs. Mori glared at him and then whispered, “His power? That orb you mean?”
Sage explained and added, “Not ONLY his orb, but Sai himself. Look, no one could control his Suiko power as well and powerful as Sai. And now after remembering Kento and my orbs are lost, I think he’s the last left they want… whoever they is.”
Sai was really grateful Sage of Halo was there at his side. But Sage didn’t know enough to help him defeat this thing. He had to fight by himself and one by one gain back the other 4 orbs… somehow.
Mrs. Mori said thoughtfully, “I’m not worried about his craziness. Actually, I only came here ‘cause he has a check-up today. Oh yeah, your mom, Sage, had called. She said for all of us to go there to the hospital and Sai could have his check-up there… including some shots.” Sai’s face became afraid as horror. He HATED needles. But he kept that detail away.
Sage could tell by Sai’s shaking and quietness what Sai was mainly thinking. “I know. I could ask my mom, and she could take him as her patient…”
Mother: “No, no. I already registered him to a certain doc… though that was a kind offer, Sage. Thank you.”
Sai wasn’t thankful one bit. Sage gently took Sai’s hand away from the bars. Kento pulled the motorcycle up into Mrs. Mori’s car and stuffed the bicycle into the other car, which he was driving. Sai slumped into the backseat… really calm but mad.
Ryo: “Sai… what’s wrong? You okay?” He felt Sai’s forehead and was somehow warmer than normal; but he figured it was that Sai wasn’t happy.
Rowen offered: “You want my ice cream bar, Sai?” Sai didn’t look at his way but stared forward. Sage took the ice cream bar, opened it, and put a bit into Sai’s mouth.
Sai chewed, silently and murmured softly: “Thanks.” Rowen nodded in approval. But Sai didn’t take another bite till Sage urged him to. Ryo then took his jacket off and put it around Sai.
Smoothly, they drove away to the hospital with Kento following yards away. Kento kept the radio nice and loud… loud enough that even Mrs. Mori could hear it from miles away.
[I'm being nice for now to keep it a little short. LOL] ^_^
