The next day was a mess before they left for school. Kento couldn’t find his shoes, Ryo got up on the wrong side of the bed thanks to White Blaze and Rowen and Comet over slept twenty five minutes. But as usual Comet went out the door without eating. The boys caught up with her 20 minutes later.
They went to their classes and sat down. Math went slow but not as slow as it did
Friday. After English class, the real trouble started, as usual Mitch tried to pick a
fight with Rowen. He slammed Rowen’s head into a locker. Comet and the rest of them
were walking down the hall when they saw Rowen get kneed in the chest by Mitch,
Comet dropped her books and began running. By the time she got there Rowen was
on the floor in pain, she pushed the people out of the way, grabbed Mitch and
slammed him against a wall real hard. The rest ran to Rowen and helped him up.
Sage just looked at Comet and realized that Mitch was getting the beating of his
life.
“Get off you brat, get off me!” yelled Mitch
“Get off you, get off you, the heck I will. I’m tired
of you picking a fight with Rowen you need to back off of him!”
Just then Sage and Kento tried to get her off of him but she just kept
punching Mitch as of he was a punching bag. They finally got the two away from
each other. Just as a teacher started towards the fight. All seven of them where sent
to the office. The office had to get Mitch to the hospital for the broken bones he had
and to stitch him up, the rest had to see the principal.
“This is the first time I have seen Rowen, Cye and Comet up here and for a fight.”
said the principal. He started to write down something and then looked
up.
“For Rowen, Cye and Comet four days detention but for
the rest three days O. S. S.”
Just then Comet stood up. “Wait, I’m the one who beat the crap out Mitch for
beating Rowen up, I should take the blame for it and my punishment should
be ten days O.S.S. for it, sir and for talking back add four more days after school
detention washing windows.”
They all just looked at her surprised that she wouldn’t let them miss a day of
school or be in detention for the fight. The principal shook his head letting Comet
take the blame. “The punishment will start tomorrow for all of you.”
said the principal.
If anything got Comet madder that what she was at Mitch that did it.
Slamming her hands down on the desk “What in the world do you mean for
all of us they didn’t do anything but help Rowen up and pull me away from Mitch
and there’s more than just five witnesses to the
fight. Why don’t you ask what happen? They’ll tell you the same as I did. I’ll take
the blame, but I won’t stand here and be told that my friends ,who didn’t do anything,
get punished for something I freaking did. I’m telling you here and now that if
anyone is to be punished it’s me not my friends!!!!” yelled Comet.
“And since when did you gave me orders.” said the principal.
“Since Heaven burned up and Hell froze over, that’s when and last time I
checked they haven’t changed not one bet.”
“Fine they’ll stay in school unpunished for what you did.”
As they walked out Comet turned around. “Oh, yeah I forgot don’t try calling my family
because they’re dead and if I find out that they get detention I’ll be here as if
the world was going to end.” she slammed the door behind her.
After school they all started talking to Comet.
“You don’t need to miss any more school days, Comet.” said Kento.
“You don’t have to worry about me I need time from the group of boys that
surrounds me each and everyday.”
“Why take the punishment?” asked Cye.
“Already said that.”
“But, Comet....” said Kento.
“But nothing. Look I’m not going to fail or going fall behind in school so
don’t worry about me.”
After that she hopped on Stealth and rode away. The boys thought they beat
her back home because she wasn’t around, she was in
her cave looking around for some stuff that would help build the cave back up.
