Chapter 9.
Life goes on
After the Warlords left Comet went back to her clothes and fainted, Ryo ran
to catch her. He laid her gingerly on the ground. “She has a light fever.” said Ryo “Sage, you think you can help her a little.”
“I’ll try to get the fever down but I can’t promise anything.” said Sage.
Sage put a hand over her forehead and started to glow green. After his arm
stopped glowing he looked up. “Her fever won’t go down, she may just needs some
rest from the fight.”
With that Kento pick her up and took her to her room to rest. When Kento went down stairs Mia was going up stairs with a box labeled fever on it heading for Comet’s room.
Later that night after dinner Comet came down stairs. The boys were playing Armored Core and Mia was reading. Comet’s fever was gone. Sage looked up from
the game, saw Comet and smiled. She smiled back and went to sit down on the
sofa. Mia put her book down and walked over to Comet to check her temp.
“How do you feel?” asked Mia.
“Fine.” answered Comet.
“Your fever’s gone.”
“I know, my body took the fever away by healing itself.”
The next morning Comet woke up after everyone but Sage who stayed up with Comet and played Playstation.
“Good morning sleepy head” said Kento.
She just waved at him and walked in the kitchen.
“Oh hey, Comet.” said Rowen getting some breakfast for Sage.
“Hey.” she said tiredly and grabbed a coffee cup.
Cye came in and looked at Comet as if she was sleep walking.
“If your looking for coffee it’s not in the fridge.”
“I’m not looking for coffee I’m looking for some orange juice.”
“Mia just left to go and get some. Knowing that you would be a crab when
you woke up.”
“Ha ha very funny, Cye. And thanks for letting me know Mia’s at the store.”
“Would you like some breakfast.”
“That will be the day .” said Ryo coming in the kitchen behind Cye.
“What’d you mean?” asked Cye turning around.
“In other words, I don’t eat breakfast. Let me know when Mia gets home.
I’m going back to bed.”
“To bed!” said Cye.
She turned around with a face that looked right through you.
“Go ahead.” he said smiling.
“She looked as if she would have you for breakfast, Cye.” said Ryo.
Just as soon as Comet had made it upstairs Mia came
in. “I’m home.”
“You need help, Mia?” asked Rowen come down stairs.
“No, I got everything, thanks anyways.”
“Comet, Mia’s home!” yelled Cye just as Comet walked the kitchen.
“Oh boy.” said Kento.
“You’re lucky, Cye, you really are lucky that Mia brought
orange juice.” she said grabbing the orange juice from the bag.
A few minutes later Sage came down stairs in a mood none of the boys seen
him in before.
“And why are you so happy today Sage? You have a date with someone special?” asked Yulie.
“No, I’m just happy today that’s all.” answered Sage.
“Yeah, sure Casanova. Your just holding back on us.”
“Oh is he really holding back on us.?” asked Comet smiling.
“Oh great now she’s in a good mood today too.” said Kento.
Comet just laughed at the other five faces.
“Alright you two, let it out.” said Mia.
“Let it out, Let it out? Why Mia I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Comet said with a bigger smile on her face and Sage laughing.
“I think I figured it out.” said Rowen and Cye at the same time.
“Figured what out.” said Sage.
“That you two are going out with each other.” said Cye.
“And let’s hear a round of clapping for Cye.” said Comet.
“What do you mean you two are going out?” asked Kento nearly falling out
of the chair.
“You know girlfriend boyfriend type thing.” said Sage.
“Yo man don’t faint on us, here.” said Comet.
“You guys are just playing right.” said Ryo.
“I don’t know, are we?” asked Comet.
“I should have known what you where up to yesterday. You know when you stood behind with Comet.” said Rowen.
“Well, none of you made a move for her and if I knew someone would want
her then I would had let them have her.” Sage told Rowen.
“In the common human terms You snooze you loose. Hey it’s not my fault
you guys didn’t move fast enough to get me.” Comet told them.
Meanwhile in the Dynasty, Talpa was taking every precaution to make sure
that Comet would not get away at the next battle. As for the Warlords, they were in
Dais’s room tending to their scraps they got from the battle the day before.
“Oh shut up Dais, you always tell us what you feel for Comet!” yelled
Sekhmet, “We can’t let feelings tell us what to do .... Unless.. It’s angry. So just put
the I love Comet feeling in the back of your mind.”
“What do you know about love?! yelled Dais throwing a roll of paper at
Sekhmet.
“More than you. In the first place I don’t tell everybody I love that person
every time we meet like you do and second I don’t let those feeling come out on the
battle field when I’m fighting her!” yelled Sekhmet.
“Can’t you two get along for at least five minutes?” asked Cale.
The other two stopped throwing things at each other and looked at Cale. With
that Sekhmet pick up something and threw it at Cale. “Now don’t you bring me in to it, cause every time you bring me into the fight you both end up even more beat then you where before.” said Cale.
“Well who rattled your cage in the first place, Cale!” said Dais.
“You both did.” said Cale.
“No, we didn’t cause we did say your name.” said Sekhmet.
“Oh shut up.” said Cale “We’re acting like little kids.”
“Now Dais, I ask in respect, are we acting kids?” asked Sekhmet.
“Nope.” answered Dais.
“Two to one, we win.” they both said to Cale.
Cale just sighed and went back to wrapping his left arm.
