 So....

What have you all been up to? As for me, I've been busting my ass trying to pass my classes at the University of Phoenix, obtaining As and Bs, and I end up getting one instructor who makes me want to rip out my hair. Ask Fluffy about it, and she'll tell you the same thing, since I've ranted to her so much about him.

I've also been job searching, and am reapplying to the same companies I applied for last November. I was hoping to find work by now since I've been out of work for over a year. Living with your relatives, especially your mom at the age of 30 is quite embarrassing, and with my asthma, I'm under constant stress as no one wants or will quit smoking in the house.

I've also been writing articles still, and working on my sequel to The Warriors: The Beginning. I can say this much, the sequel is going to be much darker than the first, with a focus on human suffering in several varieties, kidnapping, and enslavement, and death. Sounds cliche, but I managed to enroll a lot of it together along with sticking to a fantasy theme.

Other than that, my life has been pretty dull, aside from watching anime on Hulu, and some movies here and there. I'm looking forward to spring when I can actually stay out doors more often. I haven't been able to walk much this winter due to the snow and the cold which makes it difficult to breath very well.

Oh yes, a few weeks ago I was asked by the local newspaper to write an article for an upcoming Perspective Page they have coming, so when I see it up, I'll post a link to it.

So what about you guys? Anything new going on?

Awesome about the classes and article, Firestorm! Very Happy And I wish you luck on the job hunt. It's so hard to find a job these days :\ *also jobless*

I've been... really busy lately, shockingly. I just turned 23, and celebrated Saturday, which was awesome - went to see an off-Broadway play and generally had a ton of fun with my aunt and best friend. It was the best birthday I've ever had, so I'm still kind of in shock xD

School's still keeping me busy, despite that I'm only attending half-time at the moment. I'm taking two online courses, and the professor is very demanding about how much time we're supposed to spend on the class. Regardless, I've been knocking it out of the park on every assignment, so I'm not that worried, even though midterms are next week.

All that aside, I've spent most of my time either with my best friend or my aunt, or else hanging out and doing errands and things. Watching anime or movies, writing (still mostly fanfiction, ha), cooking, that kind of thing. Avoiding my mother? lol.

That's... really about it, haha. Shockingly unexciting, right? Razz

Good luck on the job hunt, Firestorm! ^_^

I've also been busy with school. It's been an incredibly rough semester as I'm taking 18 hours yet again. Last semester it was manageable, but now I'm taking all of my upper-level accounting courses, and it's very time consuming. If I'm not studying, I'm probably sleeping. Or maybe I'll watch a little TV, but I don't have energy to do much else.

On the weekends, I try to spend my time with friends, but it never feels like it lasts very long. Right now, I'm focusing on getting through this last crappy semester, and I'm keeping my eye on the prize: Graduating in the Fall.

Well a wee bit ago I was doing the whol after deployment vaction thing. Went to Katsucon with my friend. It was nice. Got a legit Katana there. Full tang, sharp blade, hand made, clay temper, etc. It's amazing. Met a girl there named Sandra. We've been talking but it's in an ify zone. We live with a state between us and have both gotten out of horribly ending relationships latly in our lives otherwise everything is good there.

Then and went to see the family and took a friend from home with me to Mardi Gras. It was a great time. Then I went to see Sandra for a weekend at the end of my vacation which was pleasent. After that though I've been pretty busy with work. I'm a fire team leader now so I've got marines under me (most have impressed some one up stairs during the deployment). We're doing alot of back to the basics training so we've been doing lots of classes and I've leading them in PT. Training them to know how to be a fire team leader. and friday I went on a NCO run with the SgtMaj which sucks. In order to reach SgtMaj you have to be able to run. So our new SgtMaj took all the NCO's on about an 8 mile run at her pace. Lots of peiple fell out. Myself included. I can run 8 miles at a slow pace. She flew.

Other then that I've been staying out in town with James Sherman at hi house. His wife and him have filed for divorce so I stay with him alot. With the traffic here (I spend atleast two hrs driving a day.) and all the small things I've needed to take care of (which are spread out everywhere) I havenn't had much free time since vacation, but I'm busy so it's nice. It kinda sucks but I have stuff to always do so I'm good ^_^

Wow ;_; I can't believe we're all old now. Touma, I never knew you were my age. I always thought you were older for some reason. Happy crazy-late birthday, none-the-less! ^_^

I feel your pain with the joblessness everyone. I graduated from college last year from Full Sail University with my BS in Film and Video Production.. and actually, tomorrow (a whole fricking year later) is my first day on a solid job! No more production hopping for me... Though it was fun for a while. I dabbled in television and movie work over the last three years, now finally moved back from Florida to Boston, MA... working Anime Boston in 2 weeks as a camera operator and director ^_^ super excited.

Currently taking on a huge challenge of producing a cosplay documentary... and it's already stressing me out like crazy. I actually just went on a huge nostalgia kick. I miss the old days with everyone on Ronin Lounge. Google still has a screencap of the main page.. I was teary when I saw it. Sad

Does anybody go to cons? I plan on attending all of the ones I can for this docu... I'd definitely be up for meeting some of you after like... the DECADE it's been since being members of the same message board group.

I also started writing a DBZ fanfic randomly... geez. lol I met a girl who asked what my favorite anime was, and I said "Ronin Warriors! I'm old school." and she stared at me for about 30 seconds in silence before going, "What's that?" I nearly facepalmed.

Oh lord. XD

Thanks! I get that a lot, lol... except in person, where everyone thinks I'm much younger than I am. xD Mixed blessings.

That's awesome about the work, Celsi Very Happy it sounds very, very cool!

I do some cons, or used to.. I've made appearances at PortCon Maine (for like five years) and BakuretsuCon. This year I might be attending AnimeNEXT, but we'll have to see how that works out. It depends on my best friend's schedule and how we're both doing for money, lol.

My favorite anime aren't currently popular, either... I keep getting blank stares when I mention Get Backers. Saiyuki's still popular enough - but nobody's heard of Wild Adapter / Araiso Private High School Executive Committee, which is my favorite. Ah well.

Have you ever made it to either Anime Boston or Otakon? If you haven't, you should go. I love the crowds. Otakon can be a little overwhelming, since they seem to always break their attendance cap of 26,000... but Anime Boston is big enough to keep you busy and having fun, but small enough where you aren't fighting for shoulder room on the escalators... lol

Both are better tenfold if you cosplay. :3 I'm going at Lightning from FFXIII (despite my sheer disappointment in the game... sigh) to Anime Boston Very Happy I'm so excited.

Oath Keeper, I was in Nahlins a few months ago with the moscow ballet! First time there.. that place is absolutely photogenic.. I loved it! A little jealous, I have to say... you guys must be having some beautiful weather right now. T_T It's 30 degrees here. And ALWAYS windy. Whoever said Chicago was the windy city had obviously not been to Boston.

I've never been to either... Otakon was always too far away, and Anime Boston too big/crowded/expensive, lol. I guess we'll see, but if I go it won't be this year.

I do love cosplay when I attend cons, though. Very Happy I've done a lot of cosplay in the past; the biggest/most complicated I've done was Genjyo Sanzo (Saiyuki), though I've also cosplayed Tsukiyono Omi (Weiss Kreuz), Kurosaki Hisoka (Yami no Matsuei), Haku (Naruto), and a few others. I think Haku's was my favorite cosplay, though - and the most accurate. (And didn't involve my trying to convince my mother to bleach my hair in the middle of the night. XD)

Ugh, 30 degrees? D: it was like 45 here and I was chilly, lol. I can't wait until it's sunny again. I'm going to Philly on Wednesday and I want it to be nice out!

(...yes, I want a nice day to go walk around in a haunted penitentiary. Go figure. XD)

Is that for the same reason I like playing Fatal Frame with all the lights on? XD

Anime Boston isn't bad! If you pre-reg it's only... 35 dollars.. I think.. And hey, I'm a staffer and next year I'm getting a dealer's room booth, so I get free passes. *hint hint* I could give you one... if you become my photography receptionist slave. Just kidding. I get three passes aside from mine. I have other pawns for that sort of thing.

Or you could work the con as staff, get a free hotel/meals/and pass. lol Best way to attend conventions.. and they don't make you work the entire time. XD

Anyone ever see the Ryo cosplay that makes random appearances at conventions sometimes? That dudes got some serious skillage.

Why iz you going to Philly to walk around a haunted penitentiary? XD Isn't that kind of random?

Not really xD I just want to dress like it's spring, and I'll resent if I have to wear a jacket. xD

That isn't nearly as bad as some of them... well then xD I'll have to consider it, talk to le BFF, and see what happens. The hotel costs are the hard part - we're doing a trip this summer to D.C. and that's probably going to drain a lot of our resources. Sigh.

I did work on year I went to PortCon, but I wasn't technically staff, I just worked one of the tables, selling silicon horns and cat ears and such for Gypsy Rose. Worked my tail off - literally (used my "pay" to get a set of cat ears and a tail XD).

I haven't seen any RW/YST cosplays, sadly. I wanted to do one, but I kept thinking, "But if I want a summer job, I can't dye my hair blue..." xD

It is random xD My BFF and I are going (again) to Eastern State Penitentiary to wander about, take pictures, and generally hang out in haunted and awesome places. We've been there a bunch of times, and it's always a really incredible trip. Very Happy We were just like, "Ah, I'll come down to Philly for an overnight, okay? ...let's go to ESP!" ...two days ago. Short-term planning for fun and profit.

ESP is pretty awesome, though. I need to get new pictures, anyway - my hard drive 'sploded last fall and I lost all my pictures from last summer's trip. D: That place is ridiculously photogenic. Just fantastic.

Oh man, tell me you have a deviantart where you're going to post these fantastic pictures. @_@ I want to seee. I might have to check it out for myself someday (total photography nerd) X3

Get a blue wig! Do you think i'm actually dyeing my hair light pink!? XD Try having an ex-hairdresser as a mother... I've heard enough about dyes to last me a LIFETIME! XD

You should be very careful if you ever cosplay Touma, especially if it's to any convention on the east coast.. XD I might accidentally kill you by way of ultra-serious-tackle-glomp.

I own a hotel in Boston. It's called 'huge apartment'. And it's normally littered with con-goers around convention time... This year I think I have... oh... 2 people Thursday night, 4 people Friday night, 10 people Saturday night, and everyone goes home on Sunday night. lol My friends bring their friends and we just all go together, come home together, party, fall asleep, wake up, start over again.. lol The furthest person is coming from NYC, the closest person is from 2 hours west. I'm the only person of all my friends who actually lives in a city XD

You own a hotel, Celsi?

How did you manage that one? ^^

Does it have a web site? I'd like to see it, over the web, since I can't travel there in person. Lousy lack of sources. Sad

XDDDDDD LMAO

I might as WELL. My apartment is used like one. XD and it does have a website.. it's my facebook, since I live in it. lol Every time there's a con or red sox game or celtics or bruins.. people are like HEY YOU LIVE IN BOSTON AND YOU LOVE ME!

and i do love them all.. so I say yes. But really I just love being a host, so it's all good. XD

So if anyone wants to go to AB, or the Penny Arcade east coast con, and can't afford hotelage - *points to self* i've got 1,000 square feet and enough room for maybe two or three more bodies during slumber hours XD

Sadly, no DevArt... and no photos. D: Boo! My new shoes turned out to be super-uncomfortable (owww), so we just walked around some and didn't bother getting the camera out and all... it would've meant standing in one place and angling and all that. Plus there was construction work being done (they're replacing the roof on I think cell block 1 or 7), so a lot of areas were blocked off or otherwise unavailable.

I so would if I had the money or enough use for one... maybe someday. I do want to dye my hair blue someday, but we'll have to see on that. xD

Uh oh, lol. I'll have to watch out if I do. xD I'm... not sure I can, though. The armor's a bit much XD

That sounds awesome Razz hehe. I'm in NYC, but we barely have enough room in the apartment for my BFF to stay the night.. let alone anyone else. Razz

Yeah, my friend Sammi is the one coming from NYC. She lives out in Queens.. I made the very terrifying mistake of driving to pick her up once for a visit... holy... goodness... gracious. XD

Boston is much smaller than NY, and the apartments are generally small too, but I live in this really unfound neighborhood right across the bay, where the rent is good and the space is vast ^_^ So amazing. We have a whole floor to ourselves.

Augh, construction always ruins it. Sad That's a bummer. I guess I'll just have to go there myself someday. What camera do you use? I've got a rebel and use a tamron lens, but I'm looking to upgrade with this next paycheck to a 5D Mark II... and I will have reached photography nirvana. lol HD Video capabilities.... pinch me ^^'

And why don't you do his underarmor instead of the whole thing? Or maybe one of his more notable casual outfits, like the one he wears in the OVA where they all go to NYC (I cant remember the damn name of it lol)

My sister is a wig stylist for cosplay you know! I could always have her make you something for mad cheap :3 She's making my Lightning wig for next weekend.

http://exilefayt.deviantart.com/gallery <- that's my sister.
http://reekavalentyne.deviantart.com/gallery <- this is mine. lol There are very few actual pictures of ME on there.. since I mostly am the photographer in a photoshoot situation XD

either way, you should get a deviantart. you'll be surprised how much you'd use it.
